    Holiday Pay Calculator (UK)

All UK workers are entitled to 5.6 weeks of paid holiday a year — 28 days for a 5-day worker. Use this calculator for fixed-hours, zero-hours and part-year workers under 2026/27 rules.

Since April 2024, irregular-hours and part-year workers accrue holiday pay at 12.07% of the hours they actually work — this can be "rolled up" into each payslip rather than paid when leave is taken. The 12.07% comes from 5.6 ÷ (52 − 5.6).

For the first 4 weeks of statutory holiday, pay must reflect 'normal remuneration' — including regular overtime, commission and shift premiums — using a 52-week reference period of your actual earnings.

    What you're actually owed

If you're on a zero-hours contract, every hour you work earns you 7 minutes 14 seconds of paid holiday (12.07%). Check your payslip — if you can't see a holiday-pay line item or an annual leave balance, your employer may be underpaying you.

On termination, your employer must pay you for any unused statutory holiday. Bank-holiday counting varies by contract: 28 days statutory includes bank holidays for most full-time workers, but employers can choose to give them on top.
