The Armed Forces Pension Scheme is one of the most generous public sector pensions in the UK — non-contributory, index-linked and with unique features such as Immediate Pensions and Early Departure Payments. Following the McCloud remedy, most active personnel are now building benefits in AFPS 15, while protected service in AFPS 75 or AFPS 05 may still be reassessed for the 2015–2022 remedy period.
This calculator gives an indicative annual pension for any of the three schemes based on your reckonable service, pensionable pay and planned payment age. It applies a simplified 5% per year actuarial reduction for taking benefits before your Normal Pension Age. For an official projection, use the MOD Forces Pension Calculator or contact Veterans UK.
